Product Announcement: Mobile Checkout Update

Starting next Tuesday, we will roll out an updated mobile checkout experience to 20 percent of users. The update reduces the number of steps from five to three and keeps the delivery address visible until the final confirmation screen. This change is based on customer interviews and checkout data from the last two quarters. Many users said they wanted to review the address without going back to the previous page. We also found that mobile users were more likely to leave the checkout when the payment screen loaded slowly. The rollout will be gradual. If error rates stay within the expected range, we will expand the update to all users by the end of the month. There is no change to desktop checkout at this time.
