My First Day at a New Job

緊張、迷い、優しい同僚 — 新しい職場の初日。

I started a new job last Monday. I was nervous on the train. I checked the time too many times. I arrived twenty minutes early. The receptionist smiled and gave me a visitor badge, even though I was a new employee. "It is okay," she said. "They will fix it later." My manager came down at nine o'clock. He shook my hand and said, "Welcome." He showed me my desk. The chair was too high, and the keyboard was sticky. Someone had left coffee rings on the desk. My co-worker Anna noticed me. She gave me a clean cloth without saying much. By the end of the day, I had met fifteen people. I had forgotten most of their names, but Anna's I remembered. She was the first person who made me feel I belonged.
